De l'autre côté de la mer (Spain, 2025)
De l'autre côté de la mer (From October 7 to December 7, 2025)
Installation with cyanotypies made in second-hand canvases and curtains, light boxes with negatives and audiovisual pieces within the collective exhibition The awakening of Icar curated by Xavier de Luca and Houari Bouchenak (Jiser Reflections Mediterranea) for the Scan Tarragona festival.
De l'autre côté de la mer is a visual, anthropological and poetic essay between what it suggests and evokes people who live on the shores of the Mediterranean. Images, textures and echoes from each shore are intertwined and navigate in both directions where the sea is a natural border but also an element of union.
The sample of the first part of this project still in development corresponds to the result of photographs, recordings and blueprints made on curtains and fabrics bought in popular markets, exposed to the sun and the sea on the shores of Tunisia last autumn 2024 within the artistic residence made thanks to Jiser Reflexions Mediterrànies in which questions What is the sea for you? and What’s on the other side of the sea? are the starting point.
