Amares Azielos (Barcelona 2023)

Amares Azielos es un proyecto coordinado por Carol Priego que se llevó a cabo entre septiembre y diciembre de 2023 y estaba dirigido a jóvenes reclusos del Centro Penitenciario Juvenil (CPJ) de La Roca del Vallès, junto con voluntarios locales e internacionales. Consistía en un laboratorio creativo centrado en talleres de fotografía alternativa y experimental. El proyecto también incluyó un espacio de exposición dentro del centro penitenciario, con un formato innovador y visitas de artistas emergentes y establecidos, como Laia Abril, Irene Zottola, Clara Gassull, Marta G. Cardellach y Cecília Coca.
La serie con la que participé en el proyecto se titula El niño al que el árbol vino a cerrar los ojos.
Tomando como punto de partida a tres autores magrebíes (Jean Sénac, Abdellatif Laâbi y Mohammed Dib), la exposición trata los principales temas que protagonizaron las obras de estos autores: el origen, la infancia, el exilio y la búsqueda de una identidad.
El título corresponde a un verso del poemario El niño Jazz, del poeta argelino Mohammed Dib.
La muestra estaba compuesta por una instalación que emulaba un bosque en el que estaban integrados versos y reflexiones de los tres autores en castellano y en francés.
Durante la sesión llevada a cabo con los jóvenes, se compartieron no sólo los procesos y técnicas de creación analógicas con los que estaba formada la misma, sino también una reflexión conjunta sobre la renuncia y lo perdido que se ama y se deja atrás al partir a otro lugar, el devenir y la búsqueda, además de las dudas, miedos e inseguridades que surgen por el camino y también los sueños e ilusiones que se persiguen.
Tras la visita y exposición de todas las autoras y varias prácticas en las que se les enseñó la técnica de la cianotipia, se realizó una exposición por parte de los participantes dentro del festival Panoramic, una publicación y un pequeño documental en el que se resumían las impresiones de los jóvenes, voluntarios y artistas que formaron parte del proyecto.

Amares Azielos is a project coordinated by Carol Priego that took place between September and December 2023 and was aimed at young inmates of the Youth Prison (CPJ) in La Roca del Vallès, along with local and international volunteers. It was a creative laboratory focused on alternative and experimental photography workshops. The project also included an exhibition space within the prison, with an innovative format and visits by emerging and established artists such as Laia Abril, Irene Zottola, Clara Gassull, Marta G. Cardellach and Cecilia Coca.
The series with which I participated in the project is entitled El niño al que el árbol vino a cerrar los ojos.Taking as a starting point three Maghreb authors (Jean Sénac, Abdellatif Laâbi and Mohammed Dib), the exhibition deals with the main themes of these authors' works: origin, childhood, exile and the search for an identity.
The title corresponds to a verse from the book El niño Jazz, of the Algerian poet Mohammed Dib.The exhibition consisted of an installation that emulated a forest in which were integrated verses and reflections of the three authors in Spanish and French.
During the session held with the young people, shared not only the processes and techniques of analogue creation with which it was formed, but also a joint reflection on renunciation and what is lost that one loves and leaves behind when leaving for another place, becoming and searching, in addition to the doubts, fears and insecurities that arise along the way and also the dreams and illusions that are pursued.
After the visit and exhibition of all the authors and several practices in which they were taught the technique of cyanotypia, an exhibition was held by the participants within the Panoramic festival, a publication and a short documentary summarizing the impressions of the young people, volunteers and artists who took part in the project.
